You likely find yourself overwhelmed by the chaos of the Coronavirus. You may find your house to be more of a mess as the kids seem to destroy every room in the house within minutes of waking up first thing in the morning (or mid-morning)! You likely find yourself enjoying the quality time with your kids and taking a few minutes to soak in the extra snuggles while they are out of school. Speaking of school, you may find yourself choosing to be laid back about the new “home school” schedule (or lack thereof). You’re responsive to your child’s needs and do your best to avoid confrontation. You excel at nurturing and letting your child know they are loved. Your child may identify you as their best friend.
Make sure you continue to enjoy the quality time! This type of situation will likely never happen again in our lifetime. Enjoy the decreased stress of the hustle and bustle you typically endure. While you enjoy this time, remember kids crave structure (though they may never say it). You may find some structure/schedule/expectations may help your child and you as everyone navigates this time. Most importantly, take care of you! We have all heard the phrase “you must take care of yourself so you can take care of someone else.” We all need a bit of extra support from time to time (especially during this time).
